Through the development of UVLED cured products in recent years, the use of UVLED cured ink in both screen printing and offset printing industries is increasing. As is well known, compared with traditional solvent based inks, UVLED cured finished ink has advantages such as good glossiness, strong stereo sense, and no harmful solvent volatilization. Especially in terms of ink drying, UVLED cured finished ink can solidify instantly under ultraviolet light irradiation, avoiding the disadvantages of long drying cycle and large footprint of traditional solvent based inks, greatly improving work efficiency and quality. After UVLED curing ink printing, it needs to be instantly cured through UV curing equipment.

1、 UVLED curing principle for finished products:

UVLED curing mechanism for finished products: adding photoinitiators or photosensitizers to a special formula of resin, after absorbing high-intensity ultraviolet (UV) light in the UV curing equipment, active free radicals are generated, which trigger polymerization, cross-linking, and grafting reactions, causing the resin to transform from liquid to solid within a few seconds.

In the past, ultraviolet light sources commonly used in the printing industry were high-pressure mercury lamps and metal halide lamps. Due to the large-scale lighting and power supply devices, users were concerned about high power consumption and heat generation, which could lead to damage to the printing machine and substrate, as well as the generation of ozone during use. With the emergence of UVLED curing technology for finished products, due to its environmentally friendly characteristics, environmental pollution is relatively small compared to solvent based products, and the operating cost is comparable or even lower than solvent based products, so it is increasingly valued.

UVLED curing technology is a new green industry technology that has been rated by the North American Radiation Curing Committee as an industrial technology with "5E" characteristics, fully demonstrating the characteristics of this technology, namely high efficiency, energy conservation, environmental friendliness, economy, and wide adaptability. At present, the commonly used UVLED curing lamp heads in the market are generally mercury arc lamps, abbreviated as mercury lamps. The service life of UV mercury lamps is limited, and the energy consumption is high, but the effective utilization of energy is not high. In addition, although UV mercury lamps have the characteristics of environmental protection and friendliness compared to solvent based inks due to the lack of VOC emissions, they also have some hidden pollution, such as easy production of ozone, Has a significant impact on physical health.
